Youth - Adoration - Remembrance - Peace - Friday 13th November 7-8pm
Join the 18-30 group in a holy hour of adoration - a prayer for peace on Friday 13th November from 7pm to 8pm
In a world so often troubled by conflict, division and uncertainty, peace can sometimes seem a distant hope. Yet peace begins not only in the great decisions of world leaders, but also in the quiet places of the human heart.
As we mark a week of Remembrance, recalling those who have given their lives in war and those who continue to suffer its consequences, and as we remember the Holy Souls in this month of November, our parish’s 18–30 group invites you to join them for a Holy Hour of prayer for peace before the Blessed Sacrament.
This will be an opportunity to step away from the noise and demands of everyday life, to experience the stillness of God’s presence and to bring before Him our hopes and fears for a troubled world.
Through prayer, spoken reflections and moments of silence, we will remember those whose lives have been lost or shattered by conflict, pray for those who work to bring reconciliation, and ask that Christ, the Prince of Peace, may soften hearts hardened by hatred and violence.
The path of prayer during the course of the evening will include the causes of peace in our world, in our nation, in our communities and within our families and our own hearts.
Everyone is warmly welcome, whatever their age or familiarity with prayer. Come and spend an hour or as long as you can make in the presence of the Lord, finding peace for yourself while praying for peace for others.
For peace is not simply something we hope for. It is something we are called to help bring into the world.
