Dates for the Diary
Here are a few dates of events which are happening in the future - chance for people to put them in their diaries.
On Monday 2nd November, at 7pm, there will be the annual All Souls' Mass at which we will remember all our dead and, particularly, those who have died in the paste year and had their funeral at St Robert's. Families of those people will receive invitations to attend and to remember their loved one by lighting a candle on the sanctuary during the Mass. The Mass is then followed by refreshments in the parish centre.
Sunday 8th November is Remembrance Sunday. As well as remembering all who gave their lives for their country at Mass, Fr Simon is due to attend the annual Remembrance Service at the Cenotaph at 11am.
Sunday 22nd November is the Feast of Christ the King and World Youth Day. Our 18-30 group are planning to help out at the two morning Masses that day and the theme, as we celebrate Christ's Kingship, will focus on the young people of the Church.
On Sunday 13th December at 5pm in the parish centre there will be the latest in the series of Apologia at which we will be looking at the infancy narratives leading up to Christmas.
On Monday 14th December at 4.30pm, the children of our Diocesan Choir will perform a Christmas Concert in church, to which all will be welcome.
Sunday 20th December sees the annual parish Christmas Carol Service followed by mulled wine and mince pies in the parish centre afterwards. The Service will begin at 6pm.
Christmas Day is on Friday 25th December and the usual Masses will take place - the Childrens' Mass at 4pm on Christmas Eve, a Christmas Vigil Mass at 7pm, the Midnight Mass at midnight with carols from 1130pm and the usual 9am and 11am Masses on Christmas Day.
