LITURGY FOR NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR SURVIVORS OF ABUSE 2025: This year’s Day of Prayer for Survivors of Abuse in the Dioceses of England and Wales is Tuesday 20 May 2025. There will be special Liturgical Service in the Cathedral on Tuesday 20 May at 2:00pm. The liturgy will comprise the Office of None from the Liturgy of the Hours and prayers for victims and survivors of abuse.

HOW TO READ THE GOSPELS SHORT COURSE: “In the sacred books the Father who is in heaven comes lovingly to meet his children, and talks with them.” (Dei Verbum). The Gospels are God’s Gift to us; teaching, inspiring and challenging us. But, apart from hearing them at Mass, do we ever read them? PRIESTLY VOCATIONS MEETING: Following on from the Bishop’s Pastoral letter last weekend, this is a reminder that any man who is even remotely thinking about a vocation to the priesthood is invited to meet with Bishop Marcus and members of the Vocations Promotion Team. Hinsley Hall, Pentecost Sunday, 8 June, 2pm lasting about an hour, including prayers/talks/Q&A. Under 18s must be accompanied by parent/guardian. BRUSH UP YOUR KEYBOARD SKILLS – A WORKSHOP FOR PARISH ORGANISTS: Sunday 15 June, 2–4 pm, St Stephen’s Church, Skipton. Ben Saunders, Diocesan Director of Music, leads a workshop for those accompanying the liturgy in parishes on the organ. Each participant is invited to bring a liturgical accompaniment, hymn or piece of organ music to work on. The session will be relaxed, informal and all are welcome – observers too.
