MARCH FOR LIFE, LONDON: Saturday 5th September. A coach will leave Harrogate at 5am and pick up at St Winefride’s Bradford (BD61ST), where there is plentiful parking, at 6am. Mass will be celebrated at 5.30am at St Winefride’s for anybody who is available! We will also pick people up in Sheffield en route. LEEDS WALSINGHAM WAY:  is a new joint Diocesan Camino for the Year of St Francis of Assisi! ADOREMUS EUCHARISTIC FESTIVAL 2026: SAVE THE DATES: 10 - 11th October. This year, after major Eucharistic events in Liverpool and Birmingham, the Adoremus Eucharistic Festival turns to London over two days. The event will include Mass in Southwark Cathedral, a keynote address, a procession of the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction and an all-night vigil in Westminster Cathedral. More details to follow.


PLEASE MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD TO OPPOSE ASSISTED SUICIDE: The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill is back in the House of Commons, seeking to legalise assisted suicide. THE ORATORY OF ST JOSEPH: Catholic Men’s Group (ages 21-35). Helping young men to grow in faith, fellowship and formation in order to become the saint that God is calling them to be. LEEDS CATHEDRAL – AUGUST TIMETABLE INFORMATION: Leeds Cathedral is undertaking some essential works to upgrade the lighting system throughout August. To ensure health & safety, the Cathedral will be unable to open on weekdays for the duration of the works. Monday – Wednesday in Cathedral Hall: Access from 11.30am, Rosary at 12noon, Mass at 12.30pm. Thursday & Friday in Cathedral Hall: Access from 10am, Rosary at 10.30am, Mass at 11am. Mass will be held in the Cathedral at 5.30pm on Fridays (Access from 5pm, Evening Prayer at 5.10pm), and at the usual times on Saturday and Sunday. There will be no confessions on weekdays.


RELIGIOUS FREEDOM UNITED NATIONS PETITION: Aid to the Church in Need has launched its first-ever global petition on religious freedom, calling on governments and the United Nations to do more to defend the right to believe, and to ensure that those responsible for persecution are held to account. Stand in solidarity with the persecuted Church and give witness to the importance of religious freedom for all.

ONLINE GOSPEL MEDITATIONS: Throughout the year, the Briery Retreat Team deliver fortnightly guided meditations via Zoom, with time for reflection and sharing. BISHOP MARCUS AND THE DIOCESAN TRUSTEES: are still seeking volunteers as independent members to join a newly established Audit and Risk Committee. The commitment is four meetings a year. This would be a two-to-three year commitment as discussions and consultations about bringing together the Dioceses of Leeds, Middlesbrough and Hallam progress; and would be of great value in a process of unification. We are seeking those who have skills or experience in the areas of Audit, Risk, Finance and Governance.
