Looking Ahead - Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Friday 3rd to Thursday 9th July 2026

We are looking at taking a group from St Robert's to join the Leeds Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes from Friday 3rd July to Thursday 9th July, flying from Leeds/Bradford and with the intention of staying at the Hotel Solitude.

If you are interested in attending, please contact Caroline in the parish office to register your interest without any commitment at this stage.  This will help us estimate how many rooms we would need if we are to make a block booking and keep the parish group together.  It would also help if you could indicate your preference for a single, twin or double room and if you could register your interest by 3rd November.  Again, doing so will not commit you to going.

When the pilgrimage details are released, parishioners will then be able to book directly with Tangney Tours, indicating they are part of the St Robert's group.

Unfortunately, as everywhere else, costs have risen in recent years and its estimated that the final cost will be around £1100 per person plus a supplement for single rooms. However, the Solitude is a premium hotel which comes well recommended by those who have been on pilgrimage recently and the cost does include flights and full board. To contact the parish office please call 01423 504988 or email office.strobert@dioceseofleeds.org.uk

On the evening of 2nd November, over forty parishioners attended the second session of 'Apologia' - a series designed to help deepen our faith. Led by Ed Dyer, it focussed on 'The Last Things'. With plenty of time for discussion and a deep insight into Church teaching, we learned a great deal about heaven, hell, purga

Many thanks to all those who helped mark All Souls' Day, making it a moving and profound occasion. A number of parishioners met in Stonefall on Sunday afternoon to remember their loved ones, to say prayers and bless graves and memorials. Then, on the Monday evening, we remembered thirty people who's funerals have tak

Two years ago we published a parish photo directory. It seems appropriate, now, to update it. Parishioners who would like to be part of this project by having their photos taken and published in the directory will be able to have their picture taken in the Lady Chapel after most Sunday Masses over the coming weeks. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on the first Saturday of each month from 4-4.50pm - an opportunity to spend some time with the Lord and, perhaps, to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation which is offered at the same time before the 5pm Mass. Next Saturday adoration is on 1st November.

The study will be Ephesians: Discover Your Inheritance. Ephesians was one of the most widely circulated of St. Paul’s writings because of its powerful, practical instructions for disciples of Christ. This study examines many important themes that are still relevant in today’s Christian culture and society—the nature of marriage, the purpose and role of the Church, the pre-eminence of grace in God’s plan, and the reality of spiritual warfare. Thank you to everyone who has signed up to join the Bible Study class, which is now full.
