Welcome to the Church!

Reception and Confirmation Service

The parish welcome Louise (second from the left), the newest member of our community, into the Catholic Church as she received the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion recently.  Louise has been a Christian for a long time and felt drawn to the Catholic faith some time ago.  Since attending St Robert's church, she has been undertaken instruction from catechist Elena (left) and Bishop Marcus gave permission for her reception into the faith in January. Congratulations to Louise - it was lovely to see a number of her family and friends attending the Mass to support her. Please pray for those members of our Journey in Faith group who are preparing to receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil later this year.

Thank you to Marie and her team and all the young people who took part in the Children's Holiday Bible Camp this year. The focus on the Mass produced a great deal of fruit. Please find on the link below a letter from Fr Simon and Miss Collins, headteacher of St Robert's School, outlining information for parents who are considering signing their children up for First Sacraments in St Robert's parish. Details of dates for the First Communion course and dates for holy communions will be announced in due course. This year, families will be given a choice of dates and Masses during the month of June at which their child can make their first holy communion and then there will be a joint celebration organised in July to bring the group together. You will find elsewhere on the website and on the parish bulletin details of the Reconciliation programme. The deadline for application for Confirmation has now passed but candidates will be able to apply for the 2026 Confirmation course in due time.
