The parish 18 to 30 group enjoyed an outing to Ryedale last Sunday. After having lunch together they visited St Mary's Church at Lastingham - built on the site of St Cedd's 7th century priory, where prayers were said in the crypt for our parish community.

Next stop was the Anglo Saxon church of St Gregory's Minster in Kirkdale where parishioner Mick Hopwood continued his explanation of the rich history of Christianity in the area. Mick's book 'The Chronicles of Ryedale' (below) is available on Amazon.

Next stop was Ampleforth where the group were given an amazing tour of the Abbey Church by Fr Luke Beckett OSB and then had the opportunity to find out more from Fr Luke over tea about life in a monastery.  The visit ended with a moving participation in Vespers.

If any young parishioner would like to know more about the 18 to 30 group and activities planned, please contact the parish office.
