Visit to Ushaw College - Saturday 8th October
Join us for a visit to Ushaw College on Saturday 8th October 2022
A joint invitation for the parishioners of St Robert’s and St Aelred’s and parishes of Harrogate and Knaresborough
Ushaw College has stood on the outskirts of Durham for over 200 years and, for most of the time was the seminary for the Northern Dioceses of England. There is a wealth of history to be discovered there. After a buffet lunch in the historic refectory, our tour guide will take us on a journey through the past. The day will end with celebration of the Sunday Vigil Mass in the beautiful church of St Cuthbert.

Proposed Timetable
Saturday 8th October
A coach will leave St Aelred’s at 9am, and take us into Durham for some free time to visit the Cathedral, the Castle or to do some shopping. It will then take us on to Ushaw College in time for a buffet lunch in the refectory. On completion of a guided tour of the College there will be a celebration of the Sunday Vigil Mass in St Cuthbert’s Church before we board the coach for the journey home. There is plenty of parking in St Aelred’s carpark and in the area around. Note there will be no 6.30pm vigil Mass at St Aelred’s that day.
Cost of the trip, including admission, lunch and tour is £35 per person. Sign up sheets are available at both St Aelred’s and St Robert’s or places can be booked by calling or email St Robert’s parish office. Payment can be made by cheque or by the card machine at the rear of St Robert’s Church.
