A restful time with opportunities to visit rome and castel gandolfo

In a joint venture between the parishes of St Robert’s and St Aelred’s, Harrogate, we are organising a pilgrimage holiday to Pallazzola, the villa of the Venerable English College, set high in the hills south of Rome overlooking the Papal town of Castel Gandolfo and the extinct volcano Lago Albano.

The cost of the pilgrimage is £*** with a single supplement of £***. All accommodation will be in en-suite rooms and is full board including wine with lunch and dinner.

Itinerary

Flights will be from Leeds/Bradford airport. All being well we will arrive at Pallazzola in time for a late lunch on Monday, leaving after breakfast on Friday.

The intention is to arrange a full day out in Rome on Wednesday with the opportunity to attend a papal audience and tour the excavations underneath St Peter’s Basilica.

A morning expedition on Tuesday will also be arranged to the Apostolic Palace and Gardens of Castel Gandolfo, a short journey to the other side of the lake.

Pilgrims will also be free to visit Rome by themselves on Tuesday or Thursday - there is a train station a short taxi ride away and regular trains to Rome with a journey time of 50 minutes.
