On 14th December the Dean of Harrogate, Fr. Paul Moxon, came to celebrate the 11:30am Mass. His task was to celebrate the official induction of Fr. Donal as our parish priest.

In the homily Fr. Donal spoke about Christ coming at 'the appointed time'. The Greek language, he said, has an entire tense (aorist) for speaking about special, unrepeatable events. Since it was Gaudete Sunday, he mentioned that we will find our joy in entering into that Godly, appointed time.

Fr. Jim Leavy, from St. Aelred's, read the letter of appointment. Fr. Donal made his declaration of faith and signed his letter of appointment at the altar. Our new parish priest then took over presidency of the Mass. After Mass there was a wonderful spread of mince pies and mulled wine in the Centre.
